TOnight they are showing Slumdog Milionaire in the Hindi only version. The only part that I notice left out was the eye blinding scene. Plus they had interviews with the child actors during the commercials. Now that I have been here. the only part that wasn't realistic was stealing the shoes from the Taj. I did not have to leave my shoes, but they were put in a secure area. Most of the other sites I have gone to that I have had to take my shoes off have had storage areas. You give them your shoes, they give you a token with the storage spot for it and when you return the shoes are given back to you. Only the Jama Masjid did I have to pay when they did not allow me to carry my sandals into the tower. They asked for a donation, I gave them 20 rupees or 40 cents. They wanted more, but I was able to get my sandals back.
Last night the move Gandhi was on. It is interesting now that I have been to some of the sites that took place in the movie with Nerhu's house, the place where Ghandi was shot and the place were he was cremated.
Otherwise today the couple of places within walking distance were all closed. THe president gave a speech this morning at the Red Fort. 100,000 people attended. A part of the fort walls were covered in green, white and orange flowers, the colors on the flag.
